The St. Johns County School District will hold a School Board election for District 3 on November 8, 2022. District 3 voters will choose between Jennifer Collins and Lauren Abell.

District 3 CANDIDATES

Collins is a registered Republican and has voted in Republican primary elections.

 

Among her priorities, Collins includes defending parental rights, ensuring age-appropriate instruction, increasing school safety measures, and appropriate age restrictions based on the content of books.

 

Collins calls herself “a champion for Governor DeSantis’ education policy” and met with Governor DeSantis at an event where he discussed School Boards.

 

Collins supports sufficient salaries for teachers and believes they should have a say in school policy and classroom activities.

Jennifer Collins is a mother of 5 and operates a local small business.

Abell is a registered Democrat and has voted in Democratic primary elections.

 

Abell says she does not “support removing books from the libraries because of certain themes.”

 

Abell is endorsed by the St. Johns Education Association, an education union.

 

Abell says her priorities are for all students, teachers, and staff to feel safe and supported at school. She also wants to ensure students have their learning needs met.
